Zipline slides to top spot

After its Cape Town Ziplines experience was named the No 1 Experience in Africa in the 2026 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards – Best of the Best, SA Forest Adventures is celebrating a major achievement.

The recognition marks another milestone for the company and its Cape Town Ziplines’ operation, which has previously been recognised among South Africa’s leading experiences and has now risen to the top of the continental rankings.

The latest accolade adds to SA Forest Adventures’ growing portfolio of recognised adventure experiences across South Africa, including K3 in the Overstrand – the world’s longest zipline.

The Cape Town Ziplines experience currently holds a five-star rating on Tripadvisor, based on almost 5 000 reviews.

Tripadvisor describes its Travellers’ Choice Awards – Best of the Best, as its highest level of recognition. According to the platform, fewer than one per cent of its eight million listings receive the distinction.

For SA Forest Adventures owner Clinton Lerm, the award reflects years of work by the company’s team.

“This award is a testament to the hard work of our staff and the incredible support we receive from the entire tourism industry,” said Lerm.

He added that the progression from national recognition to the top of the African list was particularly significant.

Unlike awards determined solely by industry judging panels, Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice recognition is based on the experiences and opinions shared by travellers on the platform.

Recent reviews of Cape Town Ziplines have highlighted its guides, organisation, focus on safety and overall experience, while the current listing maintains a five-out-of-five rating.

Located in Constantia at the foot of the Table Mountain Reserve, Cape Town Ziplines offers a guided zipline experience lasting approximately two hours.

Guests travel through the surrounding mountain landscape on a series of zipline cables, accompanied by trained guides.
