Zwelihle resident Thembela Nogobovu secured gold in the welterweight category at the 2026 South African Natural Bodybuilding Championships held at the Kraaifontein Civic Centre.
This follows his win in his division at the Western Province Natural Bodybuilding Championships in Bellville in August. Thembela is now well on his way to the World Championships in Slovakia in June next year.
As highlighted in The Village News article of 28 August 2026, Thembela will need sponsorship to help him represent our country at next year’s prestigious event.
Readers able to help this young man realise a dream on which he has set his training and his heart – while working as a carer for the elderly and the infirm – can email: nogobovu24@gmail.com or sofcafrailcare@gmail.com
