Three men appeared in the Hermanus Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old Hawston man.

Hermanus SAPS’ detectives head, Lieutenant Colonel Nicky Steyn, confirmed that three suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of James Henn (28) after an argument broke out in Nasson Street in Hawston Heights on Friday night.

Henn was reportedly assaulted with a brick and stabbed in the neck. The police and emergency services responded shortly after 23:00, but the victim was declared deceased on the scene.

Community members, as well as religious and political leaders, gathered on the Pleintjie in Hawston on Sunday afternoon to pray for peace and for the restoration of law and order in the town.
